My sister-in-law Stephanie saw Woman's Day magazine at the store with the Fall cover. On it was this cute candy corn wreath. She found the directions and had me along with her friend Blair attempt to re-create this adorable, sweet, Halloween treat!! First we sprayed the candy corn with Preserve It spray to allow the candy corn to last longer on the wreath. To do this, lay out some wax paper outside and coat the candy with the spray. Then let it dry. This will take about 5 minutes. Next, we took a styrofoam wreath and wrapped it with black duct tape. Once it was wrapped, started with the inside hole of the wreath and hot glued some candy corn all facing one direction. Then we changed directions and alternated until the wreath was covered in candy corn besides the back side which no one would see. Finally you can wrap the wreath in a big black bow. Once the holiday is over you can use Modge Podge to set the wreath for next year.

Formula Canisters
My re-purpose project with the formula canisters consisted of scrapbook paper, spray adhesive, exacto knife and the canister itself. I think I am going to continue to do this because they look cute and hide items I do not care to be on display. For two of the cans, I put some cake decorating tools in them. The last thing I need to do is put labels on them so that I know what is in each canister. All I did was measure the scrap book paper to stretch around the oustide of the can. I ended up having to use two pieces of scrapbook paper to cover the entire can. I used the exacto knife to cut straight edges. Then I used the spray adhesive to attach the paper to the canister. I need to work on getting the formula labels off the top of the lid, otherwise once they have the lables on the front of them, they will look cute whereever they are placed. The paper I used looks kinda of retro. Look how cute they turned out!!
BRISNEHAN
I have a hard time going into Hobby Lobby or Michaels and not come home with anything. I bought chip board letter's a couple of months ago to create something for our last name. I was hoping to find frames that were thick enough to house each letter and maybe one day that will happen. I finally decided to paint them and have displayed them in a window sill. I used a dark brown bronze spray paint from Wal-Mart.
Here is what it turned out to look like.

To Do List...Wrapping Up September
It is definitely much harder now do get anything done on a Friday. There is no use cleaning the living room because the little munchkin makes a mess with his toys every where. I do laundry and it seems never ending. My husband is the cook, which I am incredibly thankful for, but I can never keep the kitchen clean. I have decided to put other items on my To Do List rather then the normal cleaning checklist that I use consistently.
1. Save all our digital pictures to a thumb drive or a disc. Our laptop has been giving us trouble and I do not want to risk loosing our family pictures.
2. Work on Aiden's scrapbook, which means first, getting those pictures printed out. (I may try doing digital scrapbook pages...that may be easier)
3. Update the journal I bought to give to Aiden later about everything that he has gone through an experienced since we were blessed with him.
4. Re-purpose. My husband laughed at this because I started using the canisters Aiden's formula comes in to make storage containers. Just wait until you see how cute they are.
5. Organize my pantry. I know this is considered part of the cleaing list, but I have more work to do than just cleaining.
6. Chris's side of the closet. I will take pictures so everyone can see how much more space he uses than I do. It really doesn't look bad right now, but there are tons of clothes he doesn't wear, so I think we need to have a garage sale as a result of his spending habits.
I think I can do this all by the end of the month. October will bring about a new list.
On my mark, get set...

Starting this weekend...
So now that I have set up this blog, I need to maintain it or it doesn't make sense. Therefore, goal #1, add recent crafts to blog while chasing after a 6 month old who just decide that scooting quickly across the floor is fun and anything on the floor is free reign, while also trying to clean up the house before starting the week all over again. Man, it would be nice to have more time at home. I keep making To Do Lists. I start on something and finish it, but normally lose the list and have to start over again. I'll keep the list on here so I don't lose it, sounds like a good idea right? I think that will also keep me organized with this blog as well. I will take any tips that you have. Please, share your ideas!!!

My Mom Taught Me Well
This is me and my parents when I was about 10/11 months old.
There are not enough words to say what my mom has taught me. She has talents and traits that I wish were bred into me and some that I am thankful they have been. My mother had the opportunity to stay at home with my brother and I after we were born. We grew up in a small town in East Texas with not a lot to do. My mom some how kept every day exciting. She worked so hard to teach us many things from learning how to crawl and walk, to teaching us our ABC's and how to read. She was 18 years old when she and my dad were married. A year and a week later they had me and 14 months later my brother. She was a young mother, just a kid herself, but somehow she taught us things beyond her years. After a few years she went from being a young mom of 2 to a mother of 3. She became an entrepreneur, delving into new things she only had dreamed of. She is my best friend, my teacher, my example and I so much want to be about her. Because of my mother (along with many other women in my life) I am who I am today because of her. I have a long ways to go to meet my personal standards of being like her, but I hope to take what she taught me and teach it to my children. I want to be just like her, and if that happens, she taught me well.
This blog will not be only about her but she is my motivation behind it. I want to try new things, teach, and gain talents that have led her to be such an incredible woman. I promise not all the moments we spend together on here will be sappy one's, but I felt the need to give a preface of what this is about. Being the mom that she taught me to be...
